I've been thinking about getting rid of my crappy paint job. The more I think of all the trouble and expense I'll have to go thru on just a standard paint job, the more I think that I should do something different such as ghost flames or other custom air brush work.
The question I have is what types of paint can be safely used to create the art work? I know it will have to adhere to the base coat and will need to cleared. I'm not wanting to have to buy several different, expensive quarts of base coat just to get the various colors needed.

if u do ghost flames, just add a pearl in with the paint for the flames..... please don't change the color.............. air brushing probably won't look tooo good on a vette...... i would find a nice house of kolor paint and add a pearl to it...... keep it nice and one color with alot of clear........ i'm sure most people will say stay with a standard color but i would find a cool color........... especially if you plan on getting chrome rims and what not........
Yeah that would look cool, but you will be a slave to the finish. The flame job, and pearls in general cant be touched up easily if needed, and costs a ton more. One rock chip will ruin your month. Unless you have tons of cash stick with original solid color. Easier to resell also. people balk at a 5 year old custom paint job. Also airbrushing is like a tattoo with a girls name, sounds cool at the time, till you break up. But it's your car.
