Damn man just because he isnt in the US doesnt mean hes a scammer lol. Western Union is the only way I would take money if you are at all worried. There is no way they can charge back as you walk into one of their offices and walk out with cash. I actually paid for my vette with western union and they made the guy fill out a suspicious transfer form lol. He still walked out with his cash.

I thought they only put fireworks factories in populated areas in China
Now on the scam, or no scam. Get the CASH first, big scam now is with cheques. Guy sends you a check and you take it to your bank and wait and then a couple of days later you find out the cheque is cleared. You think life is good and you then mail the merchandise. Only problem is the cheque is a forgery and the bank only checked to see if the funds where in the account, and credited your account.
About a month later you are informed the check is indeed a forgery and you are in trouble and they take back the money. You see, it takes time for the actual account owner to get the cancelled cheque or balance statement from his bank overseas. WHen he sees the cashed check he calls his bank. All this can take over a month, meanwhile the thief has already sold your stuff weeks before .

A fireworks factory, eh? Not bad, but for really waking up the neighbours it's hard to beat lighting up a fuel depot
Best way I've found for buying things from US Vette owners is (apart from cash for low value items) a Bankers Draft.

It's amazing that nobody was killed. I'm about 40 miles from it & the explosion woke me up, which isn't easy just gone 6am on a Sunday morning after a Saturday night on the beer Neighbours who woke up a lot quicker than me said that their houses shook.
There's a mental image I could do without
Merry Xmas
we should just blow up their dikes

I have sent money to Hong Kong for electronics before from Australia. Likewise someone in Hong Kong should have no problems sending money in USD to you in the US. Dictate the payment terms and then if they baulk then do not do business with them. He may be legit.
I find it odd that someone in Hong Kong would have a Pace Car rebuilt in South Africa. Doesn't anyone else?

I think that's what's making it seem like a "scam" because that is strange. A lot of the bogus emails we all have gotten start out like that, such as "so and so is here" and "blah blah blah is there". Same pattern.
If it wasn't for that the starter of the thread may have never been concerned about his email.
