Default Horn "Notes" ?

Does anyone know what the horn "notes" are on a late C3 particularly the 1980 version. My car only had one horn on it when I got it and it is slowly dieing an agonizing death. It barely makes a sound and when it does it's not much louder than a kids push toy horn. I plan on getting new horns but need to know the correct "notes". Thanks for the replys!

Jay

PS Is it worth getting 132 db horns as compared to 125 db. Thanks.

I dont know the note....but...I do know the older horns used to have a small 8 or 12pt screw on it to "tune" the horn when they went sour.

Mine has the notes on them (something like "A" and "D"), but it's an early C3...

If you are going to replace, or add, dual horns make sure that they are of different notes. You will get a much better sound. If they are both "D" for example, they will sound weak.

On the 1980 the horns were located behind the grill, one top center, the other on pass side bumper support. The upper horn is the "low note" (A note) while the lower horn is the "high note" (C note). The part number for the high note horn is 9000192, and the low note horn part # is 9000144.
