I have been experimenting with a number of rattle can options for my dune buggy. The problem with a lot of them is they "chip" or scuff. I would recommend buying a can and testing it before you spray it in your car. Another problem with spraying is the overspray goes everywhere, so make sure you mask everything. A lot of guys use herculiner, which is like a rhinoliner that you roll on yourself. Another thing to consider is how rough a texture you want. Some are pretty rough. Some of the spray on undercoats remain fairly soft and outgas in the sun and heat. Go to Dixieline and look at the options. I ended up using a spray on for coating tools. But I worry it wouldn't be strong enough to take shoe scuffing. I also saw some stuff used on boats that looked like it could take a beating, but it was clear.

Hard to better good old molded carpet.
Everything else is hard to remove if u ever deside so. Coatings are not very forgiving once applied. Well i have repaired my floor already and imagine a larger mess/more work if coated. And carpet comes pre-molded which saves time. I recall one can order carpet in different weaves so u can choose something tighter/less fluff/less bulk.
I sprayed the bottom of my Corvette and the inside of the box of my Silverado with SEM's bedliner kit. Been in the truck for 3 years and I beat the crap out of it. Never had a problem with it. Great stuff. 200.00 buys you enough to do the bed of your truck or the entire underside of your car. Great sound deadner, heat barrier and very easy to clean. I would highly recommend it...
