Not sure but why would'nt you just carry a full size spare thats meant to fit your car? Are you trying to cut down on weight? If I had to guess the answer would be no. Probably a back spacing issue and I also thought you needed to use spacers when using C4 wheels on C3's anyways.

Well i don't have a good spare for the 77 but I have an extra C4 spare (can't remember where it came from) and I know the later C3s had the small spare. If I was not so lazy I would try it. also I'm not sure if the tube is the same.
