Default great people

I bought a 383 short block from them and was totally satsfied. Kent is a great guy to deal with, just give him a call he will answer any questions and knows his stuff. I had mine internaly ballanced and it is perfectly smooth they did a great job. also it arrived 4 or 5 days after I ordered it. I bought it through his e bay store. it arrived in a 55 gallon steel drum wraped in foam. very creative but was totally protected. do it

gator,
thanks for the info. I think it was you who posted about them before, I couldn't remember who it was who recommended that store.

They're asking $2499 for a 4-bolt main short block with forged crank and pistons, H-beam rods, balanced and assembled.... camshaft is also included in the price. I may have to pay extra for them to machine the pistons to get the CR around 10:1 (I have 64cc heads that I want to re-use) --- I may also have to pay extra for .030" overbore, not sure about that yet...

their website is theenginestore.com

just have them 0 deck the block that should get the compression up. I thinhk the .030 overbore is standard for a 383. I used a cam I had and went with the Keith Black hyperutectic pistons. these are some pics of the block.

Have them throw in a box of donuts from Bloedow's Bakery there in Winona.
Absolutely the best donuts on the planet.
Krispy Kreme fans might find this of interest, from the Winona Daily News:

Sometimes the little guy wins.

Less than two years after entering the Winona market, the international doughnut colossus Krispy Kreme has pulled its products from store shelves, ceding the territory to locally owned Bloedow Bakery.

Grocers say Winonans just prefer Bloedow’s doughnuts, made at the 80-year-old Broadway bakery.

“Winona loves Bloedow’s, period,” said Midtown Foods co-owner Tom Thompson. Midtown has not had any complaints since pulling Krispy Kreme from its downtown and Winona Mall stores several weeks ago, Thompson said.

Tracy Clementi, the marketing director for Glazed Investments, which owns Krispy Kreme franchises in Onalaska, Wis., and Rochester, Minn., said the company stopped delivering to Winona three or four weeks ago because there was not enough sales.
