I'm full of questions today. I purchased a quartz clock replacement kit from Ecklers a few weeks back and now that I am to the point of doing the work I have discovered that I am missing the instructions. It is a Borg Instrument Services kit. Does anyone have the instructions handy or know where they are online? There is only one entry at corvettefaq.com and it tells you to pull the clock and send it someplace......a lot of help that is.
broken clock was standard on all vettes....if u fix it, the vette will lose value.....jk
i would think that the clock should be able to slide out of the casing from the face side....not sure...... i know when i dropped mine 2 years ago, it all came apart...i trashed it.....there might be tabs holding it in also
Easy job, this one. Once again I have done this three or four times! I did the replacement kit, if you don't get the directions e-mail me and I will fax to you when I go back to work ~ 4 Jan.
Ok, here's where I messed up, somehow I shorted the damn thing out, i.e. blew a fuse. Make sure and check this. I infact didn't and pulled the clock, only when a totally "inexperienced" friend suggested that I check the fuse I did. It was blown and on my next try I got the thing to work. Be careful with the radio and the besel they are fiddly...
