I have my car stored for the winter in unheated garage. Car is covered, have battery tender connected, and fuel stablizer added. My question is should I start it at all while in storage or just leave her alone till I get it out next spring?
Thanks
I think it's best to leave it. Every time you start it moisture will condense in the exhaust and engine. The moisture will be driven out if you run it for a good hour or so, but your car will be just fine waiting until spring.
A forum member in Mason suggested pumping the brakes every few weeks. That sounds like a good idea to me. It also gives me a good excuse to check up on my baby. I agree that starting it for a short while isn't a great idea.
As for longer drives, Thursday and Friday this week would have been good vette driving days - snow on the roads all gone, rain washed away the salt, and no precip falling. I used to keep my C5 at home in the winter, and drive it on days like that. However, we have too many cars at home this winter, so a couple went into storage.
