Factory 8 Track Holder???

My 80 came with a AM FM 8track, I opened my glove box and there is a 8 track holder in the glovebox. I have looked at my books and there is nothing listed in there so could this been a dealer installed item???

My 79 has one also, with the 8 track holder in the glovebox, so I'd say it's factory installed.

Thanks guys! Was this some sort of speacil option? I have looked in the books and it makes no mention of it.

My 1980 came with a factory am/fm/casette player ,but still had the 8-track holder in the glovebox

It appears as thought they all came with them

I was surprised when I opened up my glove comparment in my '82 and found these funny looking comparments. It took me several minutes to realize they were slots to hold 8 track tapes.

What is odd is that my car has a Delco original AM/FM cassette deck

!

I left mine in, reminds me of the "good 'ol days"

Still have the tray in my '78 and I had the original 8-track radio assembly re-furbished. Have had over 200 8-track tapes donated to me over the years. I sold a few on e-bay to pay for the radio work.

I am going to have my radio redone as well, If you go on EBAY you can find 8 tracks for sale. They have som good selections out there and some are still in the package.

BTW what is a good place that does repairs on the 8 Tracks???
