Only Coupes have true birdcage structures. Convertibles don't.
Look at an AIM. You can see the Coupe birdcage. Convertibles don't have what could be called a birdcage. Correct???

Convertibles have all of the birdcage that doesn't include the roof, plus a few extra braces to tighten things back up, from what I understand.

HEY CARL. I use imagesup to host pics also, and today I found the three options to post pics on the net is down to two. Only links to the images now. WTF??? I sent an email to the owners requesting an explaination.
