Default ceramic coated headers rust removal question

OK, I put on 4" hooker side pipes without the mufflers, and my God I wish I did this ten years ago. My only problem is rust starting to accumulate on the area of the pipes where the side tubes connect to the headers. What is the best way to remove this rust without damaging the finish on the headers?

my jet hot coated supercomps (undercar) have some surface rust. Bummer! In fairness to jet hot they told me I could send them back to them for recoating, but I am just not up for taking them off. Haven't tried cleaning them up, but I am not optimistic.

I was thinking maybe of wet sanding them. Last thing I want to do is take them off. They were a pain in the Butt to put in.

use the least aggressive methods first.....can you use a die grinder with a 3" buffing wheel on it?

I don't know if I need a die grinder yet. The pipes are not that old so it is only light surface rust. I am worried that rust remover or converter will stain the headers.

wet sanding is pretty aggressive i would not do that first....try toothpaste first...seriously it has a fine grit and work it in with your finger in an inconspicous spot

Try some Nevr-Dull by Eagle One it works pretty good on chrome and it shouldnt scratch up the ceramic coating.

I had some old chrome rims with some minor surface rust and it took it right off.

Ouch don't do that. Mothers or Blue Magic polish is all you need w/some clean rags & elbow greese.
