Anyone know where I can find a new louver for my rear window. Havent seen many people one the site with louvers but I like the way they change the look of the vette and keep it cooler in the summer. In case you dont know what I'm talking about here are some pics.
Please don't do it. Besides, how hot can it possibly get in Alaska? I didn't even like the look when it was actually in style...
To answer your questions, my vettes are back home in NM while me and my wife are stationed in Alaska. And the thread didnt ask for your opinion on how it looked. I asked where I could find one.

Hey, I remember those. Had one on my '81 Honda Accord about 25 years ago, with one of those tinted, peel-off stickers that sat at the top of the windshield and said "HONDA".
I don't think the louvers look too bad on a C3 but I wouldn't do it to mine. I like the stock look.
My 79 has irreversible damage on the back glass from where someone must have had louvers on it in the past. A glass shop even tried acid to no avail to take the marks off. The only solution is to replace the glass. Just something to think about.

Bangkok Dean thank you and very nice ride!
Hey man, don't get your panties in a bunch. I was just tryin to talk you out of doing something that most people, (including myself) find to be silly looking on their cars.
I'm sure you will find lots of people that will like it though. I'm sure you will also find lots of people that also wear their wide lapel polyester shirts unbuttoned down to their belly button while they are sportin' a huge gold rope chain. Coincidentaly, they might be a very likely candidate for owning a vette with louvers on the back glass!
But seriously, I wasn't tryin to offend you. I just thought I might try to sway your opinion, but it is evident to me that your mind is made up. So...good luck with your search.

I saw this one on FleaBay and asked my 17 y/o about it.
His reply was:
"looks good; except the side panels are uber ghey!"
I remember when louvers were cool (literally) "back in the day".
Your taste in looks may differ from others, just keep in mind that some tech tips on damage caused from some items might be good advice in the long run.
Here in Thailand the temps run 95 plus almost every day of the year. I even have a heavy black tint on the rear glass and doors. Plus a tint film on the windshield to try to limit the suns heat.
