I wanted to start a new thread because this is such a cool subject and didn’t want to hijack previous post. Previous Post
When replacing my interior on a 72 convertible I found a 1974 class ring… High school or not I can‘t tell but the pics should show you what I found. I will contact the California DMV tomorrow Jan 3rd to see what I can do to find the rightful owner on this ring and in return it, and hopefully I can get some info on the vette I just purchased to document its history. I bought it from a Collector Ford guy who just bought a couple months earlier for profit and never fixed it up. The previous owner before him is not very traceable with all my resources.

very interesting.....thats an eagle swooping down with a scroll....and those symbols represent music, science, writing and athletics
there is no name of the high school....i bet thats a generic "class ring" that someone bought perhaps a gift for getting a GED while in the service (hence the eagle over the scroll) my high school ring was dated 1975....remember gold was not that expensive back then and engraving the high school name was pretty standard
I did call California DMV today and they have a information request form i can get the cars history for 5 bucks. But they said they only have records back to 1988...But they weren't real sure. So I will send off the completed form and my $5 and will have more info in about 3 weeks.
Can the ring maker at least ID the school, if so a site like www.classmates.com might be able to help locate the owner.
I lost my ring and it would be cool if it came back.
Good Luck,
Frank

Their are no School markings on the ring, just some acedemics logos and Hreff Jone company only keeps records for four years.
