To take the tops off for a drive?

I was looking up the weather for this weekend and it's gonna be 60 on Sat. Tonight I'm going to put the center console and seats back in so I can take my car to work on Saturday morning. I'll probably not remove the tops because I'll be too cold, but I'm really thinking about it.

What is the coldest you gents have driven with the tops off or the top down?

I have driven in 40 degree weather with the top down. Had the heater blowing on my feet and a jacket and gloves but I had the top down.

ridden in my dads 62 Alfa Romeo Julietta (convertable) when he still had it when it was in the low 30's. Just bundled up with the top down and heat on and went for a cruze. No snow or salt here in Miss just cold air from time to time.

Jeff,

Heat UP... Tops OFF! I've done around 55... right now it's pretty nice to have 65 - 75 degree days in Dallas. Didn't feel much like Christmas though...

I've driven with the tops off at 35-40. There was a good frost on the ground that morning but the heater kept up just fine. Just wear a hat and gloves and you'll be plenty warm.

Then again, that's not very cold to me. When I lived in Fargo, ND the temp got down to -45F (-65F wind-chill) and the transmission fluid in my Pontiac gelled up and the automatic was stuck in first gear until the engine components warmed up after 15-20 minutes or so. The tires had major flat spots at those temps as well, especially being they were underinflated because they were filled to spec with "warm" air that was basically 100 degrees different!

-20 degrees F.

Didn't go too far but, by God, I did it. Got lots of thumbs up. Had on my serious camping-out-in-the-middle-of-f-ing-winter clothing, so it wasn't as big a deal as it sounds at first. Not a lot different than riding around on a snowmobile, except less wind blast.

Bankok Dean, that's just mean.

Went out last night to reassemble the console and realized I'd taken much more apart than I remembered. I had to put the door panels back on and clean up the fiberglass strands that I left everywhere when I dropped my cut sections of mat. Now I'm ready to put the console and seats in. I can't wait to drive my car again.

I'm convinced that God intended for C3s to be driven with the tops off.

As long as the sun is out it's a good possibility they are coming off !
