Lets just keep it fun like it is
What you think and what the forum rules (which you agreed to when you registered) are, are two different things.

Free speech? Better read those rules again:

From Savewave:

"God bless America, where we enjoy constitutionally protected rights. Free speech, although not absolute, is one of those rights.

Being a member at Corvetteforum.com is not, however, a constitutionally protected right. The Forum is a private enterprise and its owner has the right to establish rules of behavior for participants.

Participants who agree to follow Forum rules and then don’t will sometimes find that their inappropriate posts have been deleted. A pattern of such defiance of the Forum’s rules/guidelines will jeopardize a member’s posting privileges."

As far as emoticons....here are the rules per moderator Savewave:

"Emoticons can sometimes be used to express your feelings in a thread without the need for any accompanying text. But a pattern of posting only emoticons gives the appearance that you are guilty of “freeposting” for the purpose of inflating your post count.

Freeposting isn’t allowed at Corvetteforum.com. Moderators will use their best judgment in identifying freeposters, but the judgments will by necessity be subjective."

Now if you feel that you may post anything you want, related to anything you want, anyWHERE you want, well......don't gripe when you suffer the consequences. Been there done that. They WILL take away your forum posting priviledges.

It ain;'t no "FUN" when you have a techie problem and have to sort through hundreds of posts about "does this color of maroon and lime green look good on my car" or "do these fuzzy dice match the greay hairs on my head". Let's keep that nonesenmse in the General section where it belongs. Leve the tech section for serious posts where guys need help or assistance.

Dep..."come quietly, or there will be...TROUBLE".

It has come to my attention that my earlier post (#33) may not have been crystal clear to the entire forum membership. Let me elaborate. The current C3 forum split between "general" and "technical" must be a real pain in the rearend to moderate, because the moderator must now make fine distinctions between what is appropriate for each section, then move threads from one section to the other, and then listen to complaints of thread starters who wonder what happened to their threads and why. On top of all this, the moderator gets grief from moderator wannabes about NOT moving posts that don't belong. I am guessing the split has turned a modest pia job into a major PIA job, but that would just be my guess.

And there are few things I find more annoying on this forum then unofficial moderators enforcing their version of the official rules.

PRNDL: If your comment is aimed at me as far as "unofficial moderators enforcing their version of the official rules", let me explain what I do. When I spot an obvious post that doesn't belong in the tech section,
I click on that little triangular icon next to the "online indicator" called "Report Bad Post. A little box comes up and I paste this message in the box

"Inappropriate for tech/performance section."

Dep

That message is sent to a moderator and it is up to HIM to decide if it's appropriate or not. It's HIS call, NOT mine. Sometimes the post or thread gets moved, sometimes it doesn't. And I welcome anyone else to do the same thing. If we don't police and monitor posts to our own forum, chaos will reign. Why just say "poor mods...they have a tough job". Why not HELP them in that job???

This statement is limited to a few people....I have never seen grown men whine more or try to belittle other people more than I have on here. If you don't like something, move on along. My guess is that some of these guys have nothing more in life than trying to be better than someone else, when they should be trying to be better than who they are. Save the insults for yourself for when you finally realize YOU are the problem-not everyone else. I'm 35 years old and have been in the military for 16.5 years and if I had to work around a couple of the characters on here everyday, someone would be looking for a new job. Does pulling the stick out of your butt fall under Tech or General?

that depends... if it's a stick from a tree branch = general, if it's the stick from a stick shift = Tech
