Default LT-1 Stripe Kit

Hi Guys
Re-painting the hood on my 71 LT-1. Need a new stripe kit for it. Any suggestions of where to pick it up from. Need it by next weekend.
Thanks
Dave

Most Corvette after-market suppliers have/can get the stencil kit. Ecklers, Mid America etc.

Correct, it's a stencil kit for painting the stripes on the hood. Decals were never used from the factory, although some people may use decals now.

Yep, should be able to get at any of the Corvette venders. Just make sure that you get the correct one. There is a difference in the 70 and 71 stripes. The 71 that I use to own had 70 stripes. The 70 that I have now has 71 stripes.

Mark, I can't see the value in purchasing a stencil kit for what....$70+?when the assembly manuel gives you all the required dimensions and precise location. Just doesn't seem like it's worth it to me.

You're probably right. Here it is. Only difference between 70 and 71-72 is the width of stripes.

My 72 LT-1 had a hand painted LT-1 instead of the decal. First thing I did after buying the car was take it to my buddies body shop, we removed the hand painted lettering, sprayed betwwen the strips and put the proper decal in the car. The Vette looked 100% better after that work. I agree, with the others, the AIM has the dimensions, get some fine line tape and lay out the stripes.

I know its not Correct, but I pinstriped my own hood using some 3M tape. I like it, but again it is not factory correct, just easier than painting.

Since you have an LS1 instead of an LT-1 you are free to define your own stencil. That looks great!
