Actually, what goes around comes around. When I am treated with respect, I extend it back. I caught all kinds of criticism when I disclosed information about speed and they asked for some pics of my engine and suspension. I posted them up only to receive more cynicism.

You cannot see in the engine but you'll just have to trust me on the internals.

My new tires are 17" BFG T/A kd's and are rated for those high speeds. Whew...........when will the cynicism end? AGVI, who is that god awful she-male in your pic? I'll post up pics of the car when it is finished. It doesn't look bad but I would rather wait until it is the way I want it to be.

Since you're under the microscope. What happened to all the vacuum hoses for the headlights & wiper door?

What's that white canister type container at the top of the picture?

Who makes that master cylinder?

Good observations, jughead. I don't have the stock headlights in there. I removed them and I am going to put in the road racer L88 type lights for weight reduction. The hood I am putting on is the L88 long type which eliminates the wiper door. When I put on the tall valve covers, they ran into the vac canister on the passenger side, for the wiper doors, so I had to go another route. Like I said, the body is not finished yet and these are all issues that I am dealing with in the painting process this year. I did all the mechanical stuff first and am now ready to start on the body, painting, interior, etc. I just recently bought the master cylinder and it was more reasonably priced than the SSBC unit, but very similar in appearance. Here is the link; http://www.abspowerbrake.com/MasterCyls.html
The one I have has a 1 1/8 bore and is part #MC1365. On the website they have that part # mistakenly listed as a 1" bore but it is actually a 1 1/8 bore, with the MC1366 being the 1" bore. I weighed the master vs. the stock one and it weighed 4 lbs as opposed to 10 lbs for the stock one.
My mechanic put that white container in as a radiator overflow. He removed the original one, which I still have. He did this swap in order to reduce weight. In the process the heater hoses and heater core are gone as well. All these things hold water and water is heavy. I live in Florida so I don't need heat. I recently added the flex fan because the stock one was causing problems because the engine is so quick revving. The clutch fan was too heavy and I blew out one water pump already with it on. We suspected that it caused stress due to wobbling and so it was removed. The flex fan is lighter, also and seems to keep the engine running cooler, although I have not had any cooling problems.

JCL, unlike yourself, I have given a lot of good information to other members. I have provided part numbers and links so they can buy the same things that I have, if they desire to. In my opinion this is the purpose of the forum, to help educate each other on what is available for our cars. All you do is criticize and offer sarcasm and cynicism, which is not appreciated. Those who treat me with respect can expect the same in return. Those who continue to criticize and attempt to derogate me, will be treated the same way. As far as the she male goes, I find those kind of wo(men) repugnant. I prefer a more natural appearing female, one that is unmistakenly female. Hopefully AGVI will remove the pic for the sake of ending this gruesome embarrassment. That looks like a man to me!

Now, Twin Turbo, I have given more information than that. I gave correct part numbers for an MSD tach drive with mechanical advance, the billet brake master cylinder, QA1 double adjustable shocks, Ram aluminum flywheel and more. Since you mention it, god bless Keisler, damn it! I love my 5 speed, hydraulic clutch vette much better than the one I had before.

So let me get this straight, when you did your latest 180mph run you did it with an "unfinfished" body and you swapped out your low performance BFG's for a high performance set just for the run ?

I'll ask the quesiton again .... what does a 14 year old know about driving? He keeps talking about "My Car" - I am assuming he means his dad's yellow corvette? Has this kid actually taken a car out on the highway and driven it for any length of time, or are we talking about a big open parking lot where he's maybe gotten it up to 15 miles per hour? Oh and btw he talks like a master mechanic most of the time. I am all for being pro-active but kid give us a break - go to school - get an education - become ACS certified - Get some experience - then you'd have a more solid foundation to stand on.

Geez, Twin Turbo, get laid will you?

Motorhead, the body is not broken or anything. It's all in one piece but I am in a transition from one paint job and body style to another. I am going to put on ZL1 flares to accomodate the increase in wheel and tire size from what is currently on the car. I have put on the new wheels and tires to see if they fit and I put them on for my speed run but they look ridiculous, sticking out past the body, so I changed them back until the car has flares and is painted. The doors have those spider web cracks in the paint so I think I am going to replace the door skins. I am probably going to replace all of the fiberglass with new since it is so old. The rear clip seems weak between the fenders and the top so I will probably replace that as well. I am sure that new fiberglass will be stronger than the 38 year old stuff that is on there now.
