Default Cure for being stuck up?

Hi all, and happy new year, finally got a chance to take my 73 out for a little drive after being locked up in the garage for 4 months, the strangest thing occurred when i fired her up,the headlight assembly's popped up as soon as she fired and i have no clue on how to get them back down? This has never happened before, lights have allways opened and retracted properly,Headlights were not on at the time and have had no luck getting them to return down after moving the switch on and off?Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanx in advance, Rob

reach under neath and you'll see this knee type of thing and pull it down and the head light should go down. This is how I do mine becuase I have no vacum and I didn't bother hooking them up.

Also try the over ride **** under the column and see if it is pulled down. There are 2, 1 is for the wiper door and 1 for the headlights.

Tried the override **** and the light switch itself,no change, they are still up.Would a vacuum leak cause them to be stuck in the up or down position?

Check the control line vacuum (the smaller of the two lines going to the front of the car). If this line is at zero to the switches...they'll pop up and stay up.
