I just bought a 73 vette that i am told is 1 of 16. The plate by the shifter has 390 hp,500 ft/lb,454,10.25/1. The car was the color of a new penny when it was new and the original title had special written on it where you could only see it holding it a certain way. This is what i was told by one of the owners maybe the 3rd. I need to know if anyone has heard of this 16 vette's and where I can get some info on it .motor # is 3999289 with rock crusher and 4.56 gears.
Someone was telling you a wisetale, unfortunately last year for M22 production in Corvette was 1972, and it was a scant 20 units produced.
You may have a massaged LS-4, now built to LS-5 specs, but not by Chevrolet for the model year 1973. Also last year for factory assembled 4:56 axle ratio was 1971.

Copper was not an original color. But could have been a special order. Check the trim plate on the drivers side hinge support. Does it say SPECIAL or SPEC. If so it could have been one of the cars delivered in primer and the new owner/dealer painted it.

That is the correct block number for 73, what about the stamp pad? It is a machined surface on the block in front of the passanger side head. Should have two numbers stamped there. Can you post them? Also, no rock crusher or 4.56 in '73.
Thanks for everyones help what you have all said is pretty much what I thought. There is a tag on the dribvers door above the hinge that has K15 on it what does that mean.I traded a heritage softail for it not a real harley one I built out of parts. Are there any #s in other places? Thanks for your help.
