Does anyone know of a good link showing where all the pieces in a new carpet set go? I've had my carpet in storage a few years while finishing other work on the car (and I seem to be more interested in old bikes these days too) and am now looking at a bunch of pieces, not all of which are obvious. Before I jump in too quickly it'd be nice to get more data. It's time to finish this car!
Its an easy job, I also Dynomat'ed at the same time. I cut one piece a little too much, so beeee careful. It was right at the console, leave a little more than you think and trim.
Carbster
I have a few pics of my install, but I doubt if they would help.
And before you put that carpet in, check this guy: http://mywebpages.comcast.net/vettfixr/page14.htm
for insulating your cockpit first! This guy used some more expensive insulation "The Super Insulator" and is sold through Jeg's and Summit racing. It comes in 4 x 6 foot rolls and consists of a cloth material packing coated with "Firex" fire retardant barrier sandwiched between two layers of aluminum. I used HVAC "Reflectix " insulation from Home Depot.
I am fairly sure that Dr. Rebuild shows all of the pieces for the various carpet sets, by year. You have got my interest on the old bikes issue. I am re-doing, (not truly restoring) a 44 Indian Chief. What bike(s) do you have.
I've been interested in old 2-strokes for some time now and have a '74 Kawasaki H2, '71 H1, '73 Suzuki T500 and '75 GT550. I'm keeping an eye out for an old Triumph or early Sportster for my next project. Your Indian sounds great.
