Who can create programs in spreadsheets or database?

Who can create programs in spreadsheets or database?
I need someone that has enough knowledge to develop a small menu driven program so I can keep track of parts at two different suppliers. I work for a software contractor and we could definitly do what you want, it might be more expensive than you expect tho!
I would look around for existing software. Go to www.sourceforge.com they host freeware development and might have what you want.
Another source is www.download.com they have freeware and shareware...

If it is a separate spreadsheet and not 'overlayed' over another software, that seems like a simple Microsoft Access thing. You can make reports and queries - which are fairly easy. I don't have the time - I have a fellow CF member in mind - I will pm him for ya....

Are you gong to track the same parts from different vendors to shop and compare? If that's the case then Excel or equivalent should work just fine. If you want it menu driven then Visual Basic can do it and use Excel as the database. I don't know Visual Basic very well but I can give you an Excel file (If I can find it) that I used to keep track of my rear suspension rebuild last year.

We make (5) five similar restoration radiators from about 30 different parts. We stamp the parts and send them to two different furnace companies to be assembled and brazed. When the parts come back, they are fully assembled or a bill of material. I could manually go through the data and take 28 of these and 16 of those and blah blah blah. I need a simple menu to enter what part, how many, and to which company I am sending. When the radiators come back I want to deduct parts from the inventory by using complete radiators and letting the macro figure out the math.

My program has no way of tracking part in several locations and keeping track of who has what and how many.
I looked at the downloadable programs but even the simplest ones seem over kill for what I want to do. This is perfect for access, I just don't have the time to figure out how to set it up. I'll bet a vet databaser could develop this in a couple hours were it would take me a week.
