Default What causes oil aeration?

Besides the crank sloshing and heavy side to side oil movement what causes this. I have seen where a leaking seal in the oil pump caused it, but here is my situation.

I believe my engine oil is becoming aerated (spelling?). The reason is after driving the vehicle for awhile the front right cylinder starts making a ticking noise. Sounds like a lifter has collapsed. Its only after the car has run for 10-20min, but it doesnt always happen. The oil level is always good although if I check the oil right after shut down the oil is low. Wait a few minutes and its fine. Also, if you raise the rpms while in neutral, not high but say around 1500-2000 the noise fades a lot. Let it idle back and its starts ticking again. The vehicle is an import daily driver with a v6 quad-ohc so im thinking maybe drainback. The engine is leaking no fluid nor burning oil. and since the engine has coil packs and the valve cover gaskets I dont want to take the covers off yet.

Any suggestions?

Sorry for the long windedness but this issue is starting to really concern me as it is happening quite frequently now.

Thanks for comments,

Nicholas

Did you receintly get the oil changed and they put in a heavier weight? The Jiffy lube place did that to me, the kids there think they know better than GM what oil is needed. Alot of the newer cars take 5w-30, I've heard that some new cars take 0w - 30. Not sure if that turns into 3-1 oil when warm or what..
