battery tender
after reading various postings on this forum i decided to purchase a battery tender. I do drive my vette occasionally during the winter, but want a fully charged battery at all times. My question is, is it ok to hard wire the tender to the battery while still in the car, and keep it plugged in? no heat issues or anything right? the adapter and other rectangular part are outside the car (underneath the battery compartment). thanks.

I've got a battery tender for my C5, it came with a harness that bolted to the Pos and Neg terninals. It has a disconnect built into it. On my C5 when I'm not using it I just tuck the wires in the battery compartment. When I want to use it I just open the hood and I can pull the wires up around the wipers, close the hood and connect to the unit which is completely outside the engine compartment, or in you case you could pull out the wires run out the door and connect to the battery tender.

No heat issues. The tender only trickles a charge of 1.5 amps or so, and only when needed. It's not like it's pouring a full charge into a dead battery, which does create some heat. You'll be fine....
