Its not the backspace that causes the issue, its the shape of the spoke (the back of the spoke to be exact).
The TT 2's have a curved spoke in the back to allow for clearance of the 'vettes calipers.
Not sure if the D's are straight spoke or not, but with the 1" extra diameter the spokes may come forward enuff to clear the caliper.

I haven't seen them in person but in the pictures, they look pretty straight. I wanted to order a set of rims this week and I have it narrowed down to TT2, TTD, or their new TrakStar S/S.
As of right now, I am only sure that the TT2's will work!
By the way, as I look at the picture of your car, it seems familiar. Were you at the show in Katonah this past fall?

American Racing did start making a set of the TTII's with powder coated center spokes. You might want to check. they weren't available when I bought mine.
