Default Rate my Deal....

Just picked up a 78 this Saturday.... got it on Ebay.... his buy it now was $9500.....

I got it at the reserve price of $7500....

He painted it last summer himself.... a couple of small runs and a buffer burn, but other than that looks great.

here's what i know....

interior 95% redone
new paint (magnetic red)
350 crate motor w/ about 35K miles
rebuilt tranny
updated suspension
updated exhaust

problems...
odometer broke... speedometer works.
drivers window doesn't always go back up...
AC was redone five years ago, but not working now.
headlights don't pop up all the time... (has bypass inside- is that stock?)
clock broken

interior todo list:
visors need replacing
plastic pieces around T-tops could be replaced...
storage cover might need to be replaced (what is the proper name for that?)
black piece that covers storage cover is faded-what is this called? do you dye or paint?

it has about 5 years worth of receipts and a few small parts he didn't put on yet... even had a new manual and some corvette catalogs and the paint can with the codes...

How'd I do? TIA

If the frame and birdcage are good, I think you did quite well!

I agree with the consensus here, if the frame and birdcage are solid, you didn't get hurt at all, also assuming it runs well and goes down the road correctly.

Your '78 is nearly the same color as my '80 (also repainted). Sounds like a deal. Please post more info on performance/handling.

Thanks for the welcome....

It seems to handle good....but, I haven't really tried to test out everything.....

I bought it late last thursday night,, bought a one way ticket to Aggieland on friday, flew down on saturday and drove it back to Dallas...

I was being cautious driving in unfamiliar areas with that tight steering... It's HOME now so I can get adjusted to it....

I had a 79 in the 80s.... this seemed like a great deal so i jumped on it....

I'll probably fix the major things right away and then maybe add front/rear spoilers.... still thinking about the skirts....

(how'd i get in C3 performance?-mods please move)

Ew skirts? The rear spoiler I can understand, though. The paint looks really good, actually. Not too bad of a deal. Like already stated, check the frame and cage. Those are the biggest areas of concert, usually. Probably want to check the suspension's bushings and shocks. The interior looks real nice.
