Was checking the NADA price on the car, not that it means much, but was asked in the pre-price if it has a "Rally Sport Package"...what constitutes this Package...I have Alloy Wheels and factory air, but not sure if it has this RSP...only thing I notice different on my 76 is the door mirrors are molded, painted mirrors as opposed to metal mirrors..any body know what this means?
Hmmmm...interesting....yeah, being a former Camaro owner, I new of the RS style...but, they also ask if it has a 6 cylinder, which I believe the very earliest Vettes did have...in 53?? But not 76..0h well..
OK, thanks...it's not a big deal, I was just curious...
Vettes had an I6 available up until about 1956, IIRC. Around there. It was the Blue Flame straight six with 3 single barrel carburetors. Corvettes have never been available with a V6, though. Hell Camaros didn't come with a V6 until the late 70's/early 80's. I can never remember the specific dates.
NADA is wierd with options it thinks were available. Not the best source, in my opinion.
Last inline 6 for a Vette was 55. Rally Sport option was a Camaro only option. Agreed, that NADA asks some strange questions. Next I guess it will ask if the car came with a deisel engine or not! Come to think of it, I wonder what their value would be on an 83 Vette?
Those "sport" mirrors were first an option in 77, pre 77 had the little chrome jobs.
That's interesting...my title shows it's a 76, yet decoding the VIN shows an "L" not a "J" in the VIN meaning it is a 77....now the mirror option year theory..and the last number shows production at roughly 44,000...end of year production car, maybe?
OK..cool...yeah, mine's a 76 L-48...OK, very good, I won't worry about an RS Package...is there any way other then NADA that will give a "rough" idea of a car value?? I'm just expecting this vette to climb in value, but I may end up being surprised
Maybe not...I love my vette, high or low value
