Ive been wanting more power but I dont want mess up my numbers matching motor. This is a 350 block, standard bore. I cant wait to put it together, It will be a great learning experience!

I have planned to bore it to 30 over, eagle rods and crank, KB flat top hyper. pistons, vortec heads, crane cams 272, and my rebuilt Qjet. Im pretty excited about it. Its gonna take me a while to get the money all together but It will be worth it in the end. Other upgrades for "while Im at it" are rebuilding the front end with poly bushings and a 3.55 ring and pinion!

"while im at it"is like pulling the pin out of the grenade. no turning back. while you can sit there and work easily: clean everything, new vacume lines, send out radiator to be cleaned and painted, rebuild control arms and ball joints, front wheel bearings, paint calipers, do a brake job and cut rotors........it goes on and on oh yea, new spreader bar..new rubber flap things that cover upper control arms.... plug any firewall holes, make a firewall sound heat barrier...have fun!

It would be a good learning experience to build an engine from scratch like that. Make sure to post pics as you go!

"While you're at it" you'll need to install new carpet and seats. Don't forget to go to a single leaf spring in the rear too!!!

I feel the same excitment, except mine is a 400SB.
Like you, I'm going to build my first engine from the ground up. Lots of research & study before I start. It will be headed for the machine shop soon.
Have fun with yours...and post pics along the way.

I know how you feel. I felt the same way when I brought my BB home. Took me 2.5 years to rebuild. Like Eddie said research & studying, reading and asking questions if you haven't done a complete rebuild before.

A couple books I found helpful "how to rebuild the chevy BB" and "how to hot rod the chevy BB." Maybe they have them for sb'S too.
