Default Another T-Bar Trim question

I was wondering what these end pieces are made of? Are they chrome plated steel?

Mine has pits in both of them. Thats mostly dust in the picture though.

Can you get these in repro? I haven't seen them.

If you can't buy them aftermarket could someone give me a name and price of a refinisher that has rechromed them for you personally.

just trying to get ideas on what I'm looking at to fix that.

Thanks!

Page 65 in the doc rebuild catalog (www.docrebuild.com). Items N and O depending on year 45 to 150 bucks.

Unfortunately they are chrome plated pot metal. Also, removing them without removing the entire windshield is difficult/impossible.

Occassionally a NOS will be offered. There are repro versions available. I bought a repro version and it was very crude. I've since been able to come up with NOS pieces for my 70, but haven't installed them yet because of the windshield problem.

I replaced my 1968 endpieces with NOS in 1975. To ay, they have started to blister. I think the blisters will be seen as pits in the metal. Some of the replaters who do restor work will strip the old chrome, fill the pits with solder, polish and replate. This might be the most attractive solution if you can't find a decent repro version. Check out the NCRS Driveline magazine for replaters that restore pot metal. Also search on this forum for replaters. There's a company in Philadelphia thatwas recommended. Can't remember the name now.

I'm looking for a site I can just plug in a part number and place my order and be done with it. Like CC, or CA, ecklers etc....just need a part number for both sides. I can't seem to find them.

Thanks

Only place I saw them was with DocRebuild.

For those looking at 69-76, I got mine from Trimparts .... nice quality, but pricey.
I just set them in this morning ... can't wait to get home and see the new windshield.
