I'm looking at purchasing an Lt1 convert but have only one issue with this car.
The current owner tells me the block id reads:
C11S117188
Everything makes sense except the C and i can't find any information about it. i thought maybe it might be a warranty engine but there should be a CE and then the rest of the number would not line up with the vin of the car.
There should be 2 sets of numbers on the pad. Those look like the VIN numbers and they should match the VIN of the car. The other set should be the type of engine and the build date.
The "c" stands for Chevrolet, the first "1" designates which Chevrolet line the car is, and the next "1" means 1971.
You should also see numbers such as these next to that, as mentioned. This is of my '71 LT-1 vert (which is for sale, by the way )
So the C is obviously suppsoed to be there? None of my books make reference to it.
I'd also be quite interested in your car especially since it seems you would be able to help me along with the numbers verification unlike the guy i'm dealing with at the moment.
