I'm always on ebay looking for parts. I have a buckskin interior and all the stuff I find is always either black, or another color BESIDES buckskin. Is it worth paintin or "dying" black panels or should I just get the stuff already in the buckskin color? Thanks guys!
Hey Vic,
Dyeing from bucksin to black would be easy enough but going from black to a light color will probably not give you the results you'd hoped for. You're probably better off buying the correct color parts from someone affordable like Al Knoch.
I've had the buckskin interior before. Great color!
Good luck,
Greg

Finished my interrior work with a Doe Skin color... believe its even lighter than buckskin. Took several coats to cover some parts that were darker...but it worked...
Many of the reproduction interior pieces for my sons 66 Nova such as windlace, kick panels, dash pads come in black and we were installing a FAWN interior - very light tan. We used the Vinyl prep and Color Coat from SEM, carried by most auto paint suppliers. Comes in LOTS of colors - I ordered a color chart from their website http://www.semproducts.com
We did get the headliner and seatcovers in the FAWN color and matched the SEM color to that for the surrounding pieces.

Uhhhh - Prime it first then paint it the color you want. If you use grey primer to cover the Black, then you won't use as much Buckskin dye (paint) to get it to the color depth you want. Lots of these parts are "Black" to begin with!
