Default Rusty Frame

I am going to look at a rolling chassis 1977 this weekend. Can someone please tell me the places I need to really look closely at on the frame for rust and fatigue.

Around the trailing arm pockets - look for expansion between the layers of steel.

The end cap near the trailing arm - look for rot in the cap
and the surrounding frame rail (inside corner, too).

Between the #1 and #2 body mounts - foam body shield holds
moisture on the top/side of frame rail.

Front of front crossmember where front of lower control arm
bolts up - look for rust/cracks around bolt holes/area.

Front frame horns - look for expanded rust between layers of steel on side and bottom.

#4 (and other) body mount brackets (easily fixed).

Good Luck

Thanks for the info. I have the chance to p/u this rolling chassis cheap.
But cheap isn't always good so I want to be cautious.
