Have had my Sears Rollaway for 37 years. Still looks like new and no problems with it at all. I use it several times a week and have dragged it from house to house whenever we moved. Also, easy to add on to when you want to expand as you buy more tools.

Time to spend some cash. I know... Sears. The blue heavy duty I want is $900. Costco has a stainless set that looks and feels solid. Advice?
My dad bought the Costco ones just before Xmas. Great set. The only problem I've noticed with the Costco set is that, because it's stainless steel, it shows EVERY smudge of grease, EVERY fingerprint every time we get into the tool chest.
On the flip side, right next to the Costco rollaway tool chest, we've got a smaller Craftsman tool chest that houses all of my dad's woodworking tools. The Craftsman tool chest is 30+ years old and has held up well. The only thing wrong with it is that the slides on it aren't ball bearing slides. If the drawers get loaded up with heavy tools, the drawers tend to be really hard to open and stick. But it's not something that they thought about when they made that particular tool chest. The Costco one has the ball bearings on the slides, and pulls nice and easy with the drawers loaded up with heavy tools.
I purchased this one from Sam's Club late last year. I don't think it possible to beat this box for the money. I believe I paid 700.00 and change out the door.

I lusted after the one at Sams for a long time. For some reason, I never pulled the trigger on it. I am still needing a bigger tool chest. I would look closely at the Sams club box and the Sears boxes. I don't think you can get a box as big as the one Sams sells for the same money at Sears.

Good point on the fingerprints.
The slides may need to be oiled. They are supposed to be oiled, but many don't & those Craftsman still hold up well.
One thought though. Get a bigger box than what you think you need. You will use it lol.
Wish I would have done that cause now I have 3 tool boxes in the garage.
there craftsman about (22 yrs old top and bottom) and 2 snap on (top and bottoms got from my father in law when he died there old but work great)

I've got the 2 Craftsmans, one blue and a smaller red one. There perfect for home use. I've seen a few of the Stainless steel ones in our pawn shops and they look well built. I just don't think they would warranty it a month from now. Go with the Craftsman for the warranty. Also what about the model that Lowes sells?

I'm on my forth set... Craftsman, 2 Snap-On's and a Kobalt... just keep out growing them. As someone said get a bigger one than you need. I keep looking at this one everytime I go to Sams... for the money it will be tough to beat!
I got a couple - a Kobalt (Lowes) and an old Craftsman (dad was throwing it away after Hurricane Katrina hit). I pulled the Craftsman out of the debris pile - cleaned it up - new paint and it is good as new. The Kobalt is the one that I bought - roller bearings make all the difference. The Craftsman with the old style drawer guides - if it would have been bearings - it would have been trashed.
I agree, get one bigger than what you think you need. All of them are now full.
Prices depend on the gauge of the metal, type of drawer and rollers, slides, etc. The Craftsman Red boxes used to be their best until they went to the larger Black boxes with lift up drawer handles. I have 5 Craftsmen boxes and a Husky full set I bought from another forum member. The Husky isn't bad but it's not as Hd as the Craftsman roll away. I also have a Kennedy roll away and toolmakers boxes. They good but you're paying for the name.
$300 from the SK tool truck man, blinding ORANGE optional:
Just an add on to a box like the above, but is great for a fledgling tool collection like mine, or rolling it where you need it (and not weighing 3 tons like a full box!) I actually used to have my MIG under it since I don't have a proper cart.
