Default Build sheet locations

I was wondering where to look for build sheets on a 1969 Corvette.

Thanks,

Unless I'm mistaken, I believe most build sheets are on top of the gas tank. Glued down possibly.....

you might also get lucky and find one stuffed up under the dash, stuffed into one of the doors behind the panel or in the window well, or in the seat bottom springs. all have been spots that build sheet copies have been found. however the most common location is on the top of the gas tank usually glued down. i have seen cars go through an auction with the seller following behind the car with the original gas tank (obviously removed during restoration or repair), with the sticker attached. if you are lucky enough to find it there, chances are really good that it has been baked very brittle and will not come off easily if at all.

On the 71 coupe that i picked up last summer i removed the spare tire tub,you then can reach up on the top of the gas tank and feel around very carefully and if it is still intact you will feel it,found mine on the drivers side if the gas fill opening,i was very careful and to my suprise it came off real easy, got 95% of it,was i lucky, you bet but i got it,hope yours is still there and good luck retreiving it.

If you remove the rubber boot around the gas filler neck you can look in at the top of tank and see it.

Thanks for all the info. Interior is all out of the car so really the top of gas tank is the last place to look then I suppose. It has to come out anyway so I will see when I get time to pull it out.
