Default Hello.....

I just joined this site. I own a 1970 Stingray project that I bought off of ebay last summer. It is not #s matching, so it made a good canidate for what I intend to do with it. I am planning on building a black/gold Balwin Motion clone out of it. According to the guy I purchased it from, the corvette orginally came with a base 350, auto and was loaded with options (including air) before it was mostly parted out. It was blue/blue, but is now mostly bare fiberglass. It was always a Califonia car until it moved here this summer. What I am starting with is the orginal frame, most of the suspension, the fiberglass body (front clip is from a 69, hood from a 73), side glass, gas tank and 3 of the orginal wheels. I now have a set of wheels from a wrecked 91 ZR1 that I want to use. I checked the frame for rust, but only found a little bit of surface rust on the passingers side (I use a type of acid that eats the rust but not the metal). It had a turbo 400 out of another 70 corvette included in the deal. The car was wrecked at one point and was totalled. The damage had been fixed (thus the mixed front end), but the title became a salvaged one. That does not matter for me as I am not planning on ever selling this one. (I have many other cars to play with.) I want it for mainly car shows and drags, as I need competion with some of my other toys (I may get booed from this, but I collect Mopars also, especially Chargers). Just thought you guys and gals would like to hear about my corvette project.......

I will try to get some up soon in a day or two. Its not too pretty, I warn you. I don't have a digital camara that works well (all of the pictures are way too grainy-it was a present a few years ago) so I will have to get a better one now.....

You must have us confused with another forum.

Can't go wrong with the B-M theme.

Girlfriend/Wife: No, I don't have either. I really don't socialize much with others due to being allergic to alcohol (prevents me from the bar scene) and I've been too busy with my career for the most part. I am a scientist, so the "nerd side" takes over when I start discussing things. As for things I spend the little spare time I have: a few "toys" in my toybox takes care of that.... Most are unrestored projects, but I do have some that I can drive... I know I don't have the most cars here (or the best ones), but I would say I probably am pretty close in the amount range. I'm 32, yet I own three more cars then I am years old. Not too many people reach that without being a dealer or a "recycler" of cars.... Yes, I do get heat from my family and friends for having "too many cars to know what to do with"... Sorry it is a disease that I have. They are stored in various different places and are protected by very good car friends (they also collect guns)... Not to brag about my collection (I've been known to do that), but now to the list of them (drum roll please)......

1932 five window coupe street rod project (mostly a bare shell now)
1966 HP2 Satellite 4-speed body (missing VIN, but documented by the fender tag and other body numbers, was a junkyard survivor)
1967 Mustang coupe, I6 sprint special, 3-speed (one of a very few)
1968 Charger 383-2bbl., 4-speed (one of 74 made), red, white top, white/red interior
1968 Charger 383-2bbl., auto, black, white/red interior
1968 Charger RT 440-4bbl., auto
1968 Mustang coupe, 302, auto X2
1969 Charger 318, auto
1969 Charger 383-4bbl., auto
1969 Charger RT 440-4bbl., auto (stripped shell)
1969 Superbee 383-4bbl., 4-speed X4
1969 Superbee 440-six pack, 4-speed (rough shell)
1969 Coronet RT 440-4bbl., auto
1969 Mustang coupe 302,auto
1969 Mustang Mach 1 351-4bbl., ram air, 4-speed
1970 Corvette Stingray auto (I believe it was a base 350)
1970 Charger /6, 3-speed (one of 4 known)
1970 Charger 500 383, auto X2
1970 Charger RT 440bbl., 4-speed
1970 Superbee 383-4bbl., 4-speed
1970 Coronet 440 coupe 318, auto (68,000 miles)
1970 Mustang Boss 302, 4-speed (very rough shell)
1971 Mustang Boss 351, 4-speed, Lime green/green deluxe interior
1972 Mustang Fastback 351-2bbl., auto
1983 Camaro Z-28, 305 CFI, ram air, auto (Black Betty)
1984 Camaro Z-28, 305 HO, auto X2
1988 Camaro Iroc-z, 350 TPI, auto, daily driver
and a few more that are not worth mentioning.....

I got started collecting Mustangs, then Mopar and then Chevy. Some have said that I have finally evolved to the better cars. I prefer all types of american muscle, not predominately one brand over another as you can see.....

Pictures of some of my Chargers...... The first are pics of the 68s, then the last two are of the black 68, 69 RT and 70 RT. They looked stripped down because at the time of the pics, the cars were stored outside. Since then, they have moved indoors....

I'm having problems with the pictures..... I'll try to get them up soon.....

Here is the website that has pics of my HP2 Satellite (426 Hemi, 4-speed built on Dec. 15, 1965). The blue car next to it is the 69 Coronet RT....
