This felt wierd..
for the first time in god knows how long, I actually bought some parts for my car
I guess unemployment will really put a kink in your modoholism
Ordered some MSD wires, Cap, Rotor, and an adjustable vac advance
hopefully this will resolve my ignition issue (timing kept jumping)
Who knows, maybe my car will be moving by the end of February

jumping timing
if your timing keeps jumping, be on the look out fro a strectched worn timing chain.
Not expensive to fix, but you do have to do some digging to get to ti

Wow what a novel concept.
Not buying parts for the Corvette. I wonder if I could go a whole week?

timing chain is brand new, along with pretty much the rest of the valve train

Sounds like the distributor drive gear may be at fault, or the distributor itself could be worn out. Pull the distributor cap and check the distributor shaft for excessive play from side to side. If it is sloppy it will throw everything out of specs.

its got nothing to do with the distributor. The original vac advance was cooked, thats why it was throwing too much spark
