I would custom rod anything I had short of an original L-89 or L-88. I would not do anything that is not reversible even to a matching numbers base engine automatic, so it could always be returned to stock if someone down the road wanted to.

I don't believe there is such a thing as an original L88. They were basically race cars. I have located several cars over the years with L88 credentials, and all were missing original block. Most had heavy mods to bodies (roll cage, flares, etc.) and suspension. Some of the better documented cars I know of, (the 67 Gulf racer) do not to my knowledge have the original engine. Disclaimer - to the best of my knowledge.

Thank's for you Input
I've own this car for 16 yrs
when i first found it it was painted disco colors ong/red/green with tigers Painted on the hood

I took the front end off (it had molded hdhlghts & big wheel well flare)
so i got a plastic molded stock looking frontnd glued it on

Do you know were i can get a stock one piece original
(not eklers) fiberglass front end for a "69"??

took my car to a local rally here Washington state A few yrs ago was talking to a guy while he reachd up under my front tire to feel for the fibergass seam wich mine didn't have.

I know it's not stock so I should be bothered but it does & I will do a body off resto starting with the body work first
Any Ide were i can locate one ?
Thank's

I think the spelling is Semershein, Jim. He makes original looking replacement panels. I have one of his radiator shrouds and it looks original. I got it at Carlisle. He is the only one I know of making "correct" panels.

Default Corvetteworx

Corvetteworx is a supporting vendor and usually an active forum member. They sell assembled OEM style front ends, ready to install. Fairly reasonable pricing as I recall.

BTW---talking about a disco paint job. This is what this car looked like when I first saw it in late 1999.
