Default 75 vette

I bought a 75 L-48 I love the car always wanted a vette. it needs some interior work, I got it home drove it a few hundred miles screwed up the motor (real bad knock) ok in you guys opinion should I rebuild the 350 2 bolt that is in the car, numbers match, or rebuild another motor that is in good shape, I guess what Im asking is this car worth keeping the matching #s when it aint the oringinal paint and wont be (white) and I will change the color inside when I do the interior work. thanks fpr your opinions Bill

In another 10 years or so, having the numbers match could add considerable value. If you go to a 4 bolt, I would keep the original block should you decide to sell it later - the buyer may want the "numbers matching" block.

My 63 Split window is not a "Numbers matching" car, and this takes a lot of value from it. (~$15K if not more).

I'm gonna pull my #s matching l-48,and store it away.Plan on building up a 400 sb 2 bolt main.My 75 has already been painted a different color.I think if you save all the original stuff, you can do whatever you want to it.

IMHO, a '75 L-48 will never be collectible.

I have a '75 L-48 convertible and it is one of 279 with a vinyl covered hardtop. That makes it rare, not collectible.

Since you are changing the interior and exterior colors anyway, build the motor you want and have fun. I know that I have a lot more fun with twice the horsepower (at least) of stock and the 5 speed.

Aren't we all trying to collect them?
Its value will continue to increase.
It will be worth more than some, and less than other cars.
