Shim Placement
When shimming a hood where do the shims go, between the hinge and the body or between the hood and the hinge?
Can I shim the rear latches (close to the windshield) so I don't have to push the hood down so far for it to lock?

1: Shims go between the hinge and the body
2: You can also put shims between the hook on the hood and the hood to change the closed position height. With a new hood seal, it might take a little force to close.

What I thought.. thanks...this is a tedious job
.....building the motor and tuning was fun...I may save this stuff for the body shop to do.

Aren't you supposed to set the rear height with the
threaded adjustment on the latch and bumper ?
... never heard of anyone shimming the latches.
Rubber spacers are used along the gutters to keep the edges aligned.

.. you just don't notice it under the spring.
Most would be rusted or corroded a bit ... best to use penetrating oil
and some heat to get it free.

Thanks for the info. I thought all C3s were same latches.
I'll have to find someone local with a late C3 to check 'em out sometime.
