I need some help with colors. Primarily between the blue ones. I have been shopping for an early C3 (68-73) and although my favorite color is green, I keep coming across blue ones. The problem I am having is the color as reported by the seller does not always match up to what I think is the appropriate color for that model year. Therefore, for my own piece of mind some photos of the correct colors would be greatly appreciated. below are the blues that I am aware of.
Thanks in advance.
LeMans Blue 68 69
International Blue 68
Mulsanne Blue 70 71
Bridgehamptom Blue 70 71
Bryar Blue 72
Targa Blue 72
Medium Blue 73
Dark Blue 73
Though mines an early '70 I went with the '69 LeMans Blue. After looking over the mix it turns out the LeMans Blue has more aluminum flake in it, 'bout 50% more than the Mulsanne Blue. Just seemed to "pop" better in the sunlight (on the paint chip board) and it really picks up the body lines.
As mentioned, LeMans Blue can vary depending on the lighting. Also, when I had mine painted my shop told me there were 5 shades available- I went with the middle one. There are a few pics in my photo album.
A member here painted his the new Cobalt Blue, VERY sweet color!!
I was going to do mine in that but I am selling so kinda pointless now
Who painted it that color. I have alot of time till i paint mine, Probably not this summer next summer. But i am looking towards a blue, or pace car...But i wanna look around early to make decisions... and just to see a nice corvette.
Very familiar with this color, and love it. I still think it should have been called some shade of green, as every one I have seen looks green to me not gray. Nonetheless, needing to see blues.
Thanks.

Heh. Our '74 was repainted this color, and it was a really poor paint job. Looks like a $199 Earl Scheib special...As for the blue paint, the Le Mans Blue on the C5's and C6's look like they're a darker blue...
