The P.O. of my '81 was very proud when he
told me he replaced the radio his self.
He put in a sanyo pos.
He also cut all wires, and disconnected the cigarette lighter. He did not hook up the power antenna.
I've got most of it figured out except the power antenna wiring. My books do not show a schematic for it.
Does anyone know the color of the power antenna wire.
Thanks
Bubba Sony....PO's son had it installed to surprise his dad....dummies wired it such a way it eventually screwed up my iginition...blew MSD box..like to drove me nuts figuring that one out...I disconnected the stupid thing...no problems with MSD now...

Buba JVC P.O. hooked it up so the stereo can not be turn off I had to disconnect the battery every time I turned the car off. When I bought the car he told me "the radio works like a champ". I said more like a chimp. But its all fixed now.
That would be yellow, he must be the same guy that installed the POS in my 81. The wire runs along the the left side of the center console. I had a hell of a time finding it myself.

If they don't, look for any "FM Transmitter" for an iPod. They're usually battery powered things that attach via a mini headphone jack and should plug in to either the Line out or headphones port. I ran one for a while with my XM Radio until I got a hard wired interface with my Saturn. Now it actually sounds good.
The one downside with an RF transmitter is that it tends to sound weaker than if you were to have a direct connection or even play it off of one of those tape interface things. Judgement call is the best thing I can say...
Also, though they're kinda pricey, Year One has had replacement antennas for the C3's. Not sure if they have a CB/Radio combo antenna, but I seem to remember seeing something like that in their catalog. Give 'em a call and ask them, they should be able to tell you.
