Default Help with LT-1

I am looking at a 72 LT-1 CONVERTIBLE
#s match
Red, should be green
4 speed
tan leather, nice condition
PS, PB, tilt, luggage rack, AM/FM
Excellent driver quality paint
Runs great, stops great
frame and birdcage good.
I have never had an LT-1, so my main question is what is it worth?
Especially compared to a base 350 of the same model.
TIA

Depends on where you are, how bad the seller wants to get rid of it, is it NCRS...about a million things.

I know my 72 L48 is prob. worth around 12 with the decent paint and rather good mechanicals it has now. If it was perfect and original, could probably get over 20K.

The LT-1 you're looking at is probably in the high teens to low 20's, based on your post. Post some pics and we can probably give you a better idea.

LT-1 verts are kind of rare (check black book for kind of exact build numbers)...just out of curiosity what's the guy asking for it?

Different paint is a hit against it. A pretty big one to, considering what it costs to paint these cars correctly.
How many miles are on it?

MRJBQ,

You can check this link posted by another member as it's pretty close to what's going on in the market for these cars.

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...s&forum_id=119

I would say if it's a real numbers matching LT-1 Vert, with documentation, get ready to pay some big bucks (over 30K) for it, unless it needs a TON of work (correct paint) or some of the other major components are missing (IE: SMOG, TI stuff etc). I keep a close eye on what the LT-1'S are bringing and have looked at a couple of convertibles myself, but 2 cars is enough.

Good luck

1972 SHOW GOOD Average TLC
T-Top, 26,000, 21,000, 18,000, 11,000
Vert, 34,000, 26,000, 23,000, 14,000

T-top increased by 4% and Verts by 6% last year
add $5000 for 454, add $10,000 for LT1, add $1500 for AC

Wonder what the rational would be for the 71's resale being at least $1k lower than the 70 and 72 (all things equal) ..... and the 70 and 72 being almost equal??? 70 had much lower number manufactured while I'm not sure about 71 and 72 quantities.

but "a very nice original vette" IS NCRS in my book.

And as they say, "When the top goes down, the price goes up!"

For a quick rule of thumb, the LT1 is worth about 1/3 more than a comparable non-LT1 .

First and last years usually bring a little more $$$, and the '71 LT-1's -were overshadowed by the LS-6

Plus, the '72 has the engine code in the VIN, so it's much harder to counterfeit a 1972 LT-1.

True, and it's one of the things that helped influence my purchase (72 LT-1 Vert).
