Default Large Wheels on C3's

I'm currently Vette-less (I've had a 79, 00, and '01 Z06) but am hopefully going to be in the market soon for another C3...my current thought is maybe a 72.

Does anyone have pics of C3's with large diameter wheels on 'em? Like maybe 18's for instance?

I had standard size 15x8 Amercian Racing Torq Thrust II's on my 79...I've seen the same wheel in 18" on a 70's Camaro, but can't figure out if it would look disgusting on a Vette or not

17s on the front, 18s on the rear. There are plenty of us here that are running 17s, 18s and a couple of 20s.

I just installed C5 17" wheels and had my new 255-50-17 tires installed today. I was asking the guys at the shop what the largest wheels are that they sell. Their reply was 30" wheels for Hummers that run nearly $50,000.00

Is that all tire filling up the wheel well or do you have it lowered too?

Red73,
Sweet ride!
I like the set-up with the 17" in front & 18" in the rear. Can you give me the specs on the wheels and tires (ie. sizes, manufacturer, off-set)?

Is that a VB&P speader bar under the hood? If so, did you go with the welded or bolt on style?

Hate to bug you, but want to see with other Vette owner's are running out there.

The Hooker Sidepipes, are they chromed or Sterling Jet-Hot? I was going with the Jet-Hot but I haven't seen too many photos of the Sterling finish.

Thanks for taking the time to answer!

17x9.5" front, 18x 9.5" rear, Z06 style wheels on my 79 Vette. 275/40 17 front and 275/40 18 rear. 17x10.5 rear, 17x9.5 front real soon. As soon as I modify my rear sway bar. See it here:

Yes, what wheel, tire, offset and drop is that??? What a gorgeous car, perfect filling of the wells.

onaqwst, do you have much of a turning radius whatsoever?

That looks killer, but it looks like it would destroy the wheelwells...no?
