Default Engine photos

Hello All

Since I got the '71, I been wondering if anybody has a good set of photos showing what the overall engine compartment should look like when finished back to original.

Mine is a 350/270. Are my chrome valve covers original?

NIIICE!! And there's that beautiful green color again!

Does this air cleaner decal match yours?

I just cleaned mine up and want a new decal. Mine was just a silver residue left from the chrome cover being upside down....

That looks correct, you need a "keep your Car GM" on the side of the air cleaner also. I need to get a new one of those, I nuked it last week when I repainted the aircleaner. They should have them at the Corvette Show in Houston on the 25th.

Hey!!! That Air Cleaner you have on that 71... I have one... Do You guys think that'll work with an AIR Gap manifold under a 73 Hood?
I'm hopeful it will as I might have clearance issues, and this Air cleaner looks like it's low enough to make that AIR GAP fit!!

Let me know. Thanks

Ok... I just measured mine as being 3 inches "tall" while the seat for the carb is inset about 3/4 inces. So if my math still works, this type of cleaner will top out at about 2.25 inches from the carb seat. So if you have that much clearance between the carb and the hood, it'll work. I'm just wondering how you are gonna measure the clearance with the hood closed

Get a hunk of clay and put it on top - close the hood. Then open it and measure the clay thickness.
