69 with LeMans Doghouse....

69 with LeMans Doghouse....
Hey Guys,
Couple of questions... I bought a 69 coupe, Big Block 4spd. off ebay a few months ago. I have done a frame off of the frame and drivetrain and interior... I have left the body alone due to the aftermarket nose. The paint is presentable but not great. I am already over my budget. How much does that Lemans hood from Ecklers hurt my car... I have also looked a 69 parts car locally for the doghouse... I just feel its to much money buy the time I buy the parts hang them and paint the whole car... Any Ideas or suggestions would be great...Whats this mild custom big block 4sd worth....Thanks

Lemans Hood...
It was made buy Ecklers.... It is in 3 pieces... with monza style headlight. The Hood and fenders are one piece and flip forward leaving the bottom back of the fenders attached to the car. It has a high cowl in the middle of the hood... It clears my 427 with a high rise intake... I can send pics. if you email me at scott@mywhitehawk.com

I took this pic at a Vette show my friend and I entered in Mexico in 82'.....
Not sure,but think this was either Eckler or Greenwood front end...
BTW: you can barely see my buds 63 Split window behind this vette...

Hard to say....it certainly will be less value than a 69 with an L88 hood..even the aftermarket one...I have not seen a hinged front end on a C3 in years..

Myself, I would say dont do it, get your self an L88 hood (or any custom head that takes your fancy) that way if you ever want to go back to more of a stock look then swapping to an original style hood would be relatively painless.
It aslo depends on what else bodywise you are planning with the car, if everything else is pretty much stock then just do a hood.

I got the whole Ecklers LeMans Hinged Doghouse with the car. Its on it.. I looked a original 69 doghouse for it... Just not in the budget. Just curious what you guys might think of them... Believe me I would rather have the original front end and big block hood on my car.. Unfortunatly I am looking to sell the car now and not sure how to price it. Thanks
