This is a good thread.
My 72 has "MIDAS Customs". (previous owner)
Quiet as a 77 Cadillac. Even quiet at full throttle. Pisses me off !
I think I will go with a set of standard Turbos ... I am sure they will flow mo betta and sound better.
I read through all the postings on this subject. People seem to be lumping all Flowmaster opinions based on the original 40 Series muffler. I've been looking into their other mufflers and they have developed a product line called "Delta Flow". The alleged benefit is better flow than the original 40 Series, aka American Thunder, and the sound is less annoying in the cockpit. The Delta Flow 40 is supposed to sound similar to the original 40, but there is also a Delta Flow 50 that is more mellow. I really liked the sound clip for the DF 50.
its got resonance around 1800 rpms.. which sucks for me cuz thats my cruising speed
around 2 grand its not bad.. only problem I have with that exhaust is it's so loud I cant play around anymore
Do you have an X-pipe or balance pipe on your chambered system ?? I am considering a chambered system on my '68 SB and was wondering what everyone is using for the balance/X-pipe. Are the pre-made ones as good as a muffler shop made one ??

There is not a crossover with the exhaust. I have been looking at fitting one, but the crimped sections and other interferance makes it a bit of a challenge. I believe it would sound a little better and add some improvement. Has anyone fitted a crossover to one?

No I do not, I'd love to do some kind of H pipe but it's just not quite feasable with the TH400 and xmember in the way. I've got a welder and some pipe, Im sure I can come up with something
