Default 1979 Alarm system

Dose any one have a good discription and pics of how to restore the factory alarm on a 79 I have purchased every manual I can find with no success of finding any pics or diagrams. I also looked on corvete FAQ and found a good artical about a 75 alarm but I do not think it is the same for the 79 also there were no pics or diagrams. I am tring to restore what Bubba broke and he has hacked it so much I can't tell what is what.

I have looked for info on this in the past and found almost nothing. Your best source is to find a wiring diagram and trace wires by color. Check the switches in the doors and there may be one for the hood. I believe on the 79 the main actuating switch is incorporated into the key lock on the drivers side door.
Good Luck

Hey Casey,
I e-mailed you and sent you several scanned pages from an article I found on this topic. Did you get them?

The factory wiring diagram is the way to go. On my '78 almost everything is just wired in series. Any switch breaks you get alarm. The only gotchas are a relay and flasher under the console. The alarm horn should be up under the driver side cowl under the brake booster. The door lock turned to the left on the drivers side activates the system.
