I have a 70 Vette that has flared rear fenders. I want to take the flare out and put it back as original. I do not want to replace the whole quarter panel (due to cost). Does anyone make a patch panel I can cut in with?
I would appreciate any suggestions or let me know where I can purchase.
You can check with the major suppliers, most have some sort of "flare repair" parts. You don't need to replace an entire fender panel unless you are going for an NCRS quality restoration. If the majors don't have what you need, there are fiberglass specailty suppliers like Tracy, that will probably have what you need. Try the links page on the idaho corvette club page www.idavette.net
I think by the time you make the splice invisible, you could have split the seams and bonded in new panels.
I'm working on a '68 now that someone spliced in a piece of fender 30+ years ago. If they had done it right the first time, I wouldn't be doing it this time.
