Default 76 Valve Corver Recommendations?

Does anyone have any suggestions about custom valve covers that will clear my a/c compressor and alternator? I don't want stamped steel and would prefer polished die cast aluminum or something that looks bad to the bone. I have Edelbrock Elite Tall Covers and matching Air Cleaner, but the covers are so tall that I have to take them off to get the slightest amount of slack to put the belts on, and that is if I'm lucky. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I've been wanting a set like these, but just can't justify spending the money right now.

you need standard valve covers, talls are to big. if you need talls, then try getting your belts alittle bigger, they go in half inch increments.

Thanks everyone, I am still checking out my options. I like the style Liquiddragon has, wonder if they will clear my a/c and alternator running belts. I have tried the longer belts and believe me there have been many trips to the parts house. What I've found is that in fact I can move things out, but the alt belt rubs the powersteering pump, I have to take the valve cover off to get the belt on my alt, and I have just installed the stock A6 compressor and it looks as if I may have to remove the valve cover to just get the belt on it. There is very little adjustment once I get the belts on, and belt slippage is causing squells. Hense, thats why I am looking for other valve covers that will work. The stock L82 valve covers were dull and ugly and I stupily gave them away to another member of our car club. Should have kept them, but would like something shiney or different than stock. Does anybody have any info if the polished die cast proform covers with the bowtie and Chevrolet script on them will work. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks Vettedude76

i have the tall covers on mine but i think if you run the low profile covers that should be ok but im not 100% sure on that. my sugestion would be to start looking at new pully setups and maybe see about going to a surpentine setup. if you dont mind spending a little bit extra on a new kit this is perfect and the brackets can be powder coated. go to summit racing and look up this part number NAL-12497698
