Hot Air
I've disconected the a/c compressor on my '76 as the evaporator is leaking and I haven't had a chance to replace it yet. When driving now, I notice that whereever the a/c, etc. **** is placed, other than off of course, hot air comes from the vents (the heator core has been disconected). This air temp. goes above 110 degrees while the ambient temp is probably around 78. Common sense would dictate that this hot air is coming from the engine compartment, although there is no odor. Perhaps someone could shed some light on this. (My a/c has not been that cold for sometime now, and I guess this is the reason why).
