Sorry man, but that does not appeal to me in any way...color, interior, wheels...just not what I would do.

I tried the aftermarket ones on my 73. A vendor at Carlisle said they work really good and they haven't had any trouble with them. So I installed them and when I push the handle down it drags on the housing and will not readily return to the up position. So I replaced them with the GM ones. Now no problem.

Default tips on replacing handles

I just bought a new handle for my driver door. How difficult is it to install? Any tips?

Are you ordering thru a dealer or other vendors and what is a average price?

Lots of Bandaids and disinfectant. Seriously, you may find it easiest to remove the latching mechanism and shield first to gain better access to the nuts holding the handle in place. You might even accidently clean and lube the mechanism while it's out, probably hasn't been done in 35 or 30 years.

OEM or aftermarket? I think you will find even the new OEM units are aftermarket (imported) unless you find some old but new stock. I put aftermarkets on mine, no problems. It is always garage kept though, doesn't see winter and very little rain.

OEM is better. They are still available from your local GM dealer I believe.
